What colours are you planning to wear this summer?

Are you more of a pop colour diva? Or does your mind go minty to combat the rising temperatures in the city?

Do you prefer simple fuss-free silhouettes or is more the merrier for you?

With 25+ designer labels under one roof, and a variety of silhouettes to choose from- ethnic to Indo-western dresses, cocktail gowns, saris, lehngas and even an occasion wear edit for the li’l ones- The Silver Needle on Sarat Bose Road is a one-stop-shop for all your summer festive wear needs.

I’m more of a pop-colour person myself. Give me jewel toned shades and I’ll immediately reach out for it. For me, something I wear for a wedding or a religious function can never be a light shade. At The Silver Needle, my choice was this lovely pink and yellow silk number which had bandhani prints in the body matched with a benarasi dupatta.

The zardosi work on the neckline too was an interesting touch. Not too much, it made the outfit perfect for both family occassions as well as kisi aur key ghar ki shaadi.

I kept the rest of the look basic, with simple long earrings. For when the outfit is as gorgeous as this, you need to arrest attention in one place. However, should you want to jazz it up a little, perhaps try an interesting hairstyle? A braided look perhaps?

On the other end of the spectrum was my fellow blogger Riyanka, who chose a minty blue number for herself. A bride-to-be, Riyanka is currently crushing on lehngas and The Silver Needle includes both heavy evening wear and light day wear numbers.

The best part about a lehnga for me? Once worn for the occasion, make a simpler blouse to match the lehnga, or a skirt to pair with the fancy choli. The dupatta too can be worn over a plain kurta, making it occasion ready. So that’s four outfits in one!

However, there are, among us, those who dig experimental fashion. Be it for a cocktail party or even that destination wedding. If regular is not your game, The Silver Needle is again happy to oblige.

Another fellow blogger, Srishti Nadhani’s style is not for all. An avant garde dresses, Srishti found her ideal festive wear in this black-and-grey number with maximal balloon sleeves. Romantic waves on her short hair, and she’s good to go.

The Silver Needle has just turned one, celebrating their anniversary with a special discount for patrons. Correct time like no other to head over for picks all the better to refresh your wardrobe.
