Raise your hand if you, like me, are lazy enough to skip a tall glass of juice if it involves skinning a fruit and juicing it. Making the best available options for us sloths either buying ourselves a freshly squeezed glass or refrigerating a tetra pack. But walking out to the juce-wallah is an effort 😀 , and isn’t packaged juice nutritionally questionable?
Healthy help is at hand- B Natural, a new range of ‘Not from Concentrate’ juices from ITC.
A packaged juice, then. Wouldn’t that be one of the many?
What’s different is that ITC Foods Division acknowledges that “juices in the market today are made from fruit concentrate”, which “reduces the content of anti-oxidants such as Vit-C, thereby making the juice less nutritive”.
B Natural range of juices are made from fruit pulp, which, inform ITC, is nutritive and gives one an “authentic taste experience”.
To introduce me to some healthy drinking, the folks at ITC sent over a hamper of juicy goodness, which included Litchi, Mango, Guava and Pomegranate.
Now, always having been tempted by the king of fruits, I first reached for Mango. Thicker in constitution than general, the juice made of Alphonso mangos is sheer bliss. The Litchi is a fruit I don’t lean towards, however, the relish on the husbands face as he polished off said pack (in two days) is proof of the pudding!
Plus, the packaging is particularly exciting , with an inclusion of fun facts. (One for the brain!). Like how Pomegranates are a rich in antioxidants, or that Guavas lend Vitamin C, helping in the absorption of dietary iron. (Psst! The Guava drink has a hint of salt in it lest it be too bland!)
The packs, meanwhile, have all nutritional info in place so you know exactly what you’re getting. Available as both 1L and 200ml packs, the plethora of flavours include Jamun, Mixed Fruit, Orange, Pineapple, Apple and Punjab Da Kinnow, which boxes the citrusy winter fruit from the land of the five rivers. Oh, and their tetra packs are packed super well, which prevent the juice from going bad for quite a while.
Proof? Checkout this BTS shot of me opening the pack of Mango! 😀 😀
Check out the B Natural Beverages website for more details. They have some chill mocktail recipes that could well be converted into cocktails. 😉
Till the next post, then…
