Being a bride is a beautiful experience. Ask me. But then, I’ll also narrate how the run-up to D-‘Week’ can be daunting. For all a girl wants, and has to get, is everything in order, for different levels of artistry come together to maketh a bride.

Sounds intimidating? Fashion label Verse lends a helping hand at The Bridal Story, a three-day extravaganza celebrating their first anniversary.

Marking a whole rotation around the sun (their first birthday, baba!) Verse has curated an affair from October 27-29, which sees the bride-to-be, and her own, through the label’s bridal trousseau, while bringing on board master drapist Dolly Jain and celebrity MUA Aniruddha Chakladar for know-how sessions.

Doesn’t only sound good, it is! For how I wish I was privy to something like this last year! Attending one such event helps one not only choose the bridal trousseau, but there’s also help at hand from a drapist and a make-up artist to complement and complete. What’s more, an association with Mahabir Danwar Jewellers and Ganpati’s Rajesh means the bridal party has an option of sorting out the jewellery and culinary quest too. That’s FIVE ticks on the list at one go. #WIN!!

Speaking about the bride herself, I’ve comes across a number of them who prefer minimalism. But minimalist, or simple, doesn’t mean banal. Instead, it’s about not getting weighed down by wedding finery. The bride chooses to retain focus on one aspect of her look. Comfort. And comfort is the new LBD!
A mood I’ve taken up in the first look…

Here I’m wearing a raw silk lehnga-blouse with net sleeves and a net dupatta decorated with thread work and just that subtle touch of zardosi.

There are other brides still still who like making a statement with their penchant for a dash of drama. Think a hatke outfit which stands out, hand-in-hand with the jewellery. This bride, then, wants a red carpet moment for herself, wearing the look to one of the pre- or post-wedding functions…

Keeping up with the vibes, this raw silk gown in a shade of midnight blue. Adding the drama? Those ankle-long sleeves!

If you’ve liked these, there’s SO much more to choose where it came from. Drop in to The Bridal Story at Verse {18 Park Lane, behind Park Street} on any one of the three days. The timetable reads –
October 27: Sari and dupatta draping session by Dolly Jain.
October 28: Make-up and hairstyling session by Aniruddha Chakladar and stylist Sandip Ghoshal.
October 29: Join in for a cake cutting ceremony to accentuate celebrations.

Drop in. You wont regret it! And come, celebrate!
