Boiling under the surface for the last couple of years, this season is about all things metallic.

The high street fashion scene in India is catching up with the west. It’s no more a season-minus-one scene at the desi branches anymore, the front window mood at the Calcutta stores satisfactorily aping the shops at Oxford Street in London.

One such very season happy trend in metallic, which grapples for wardrobe space this December with another comeback kid- bling. But the deal with bling, at least for me, is that I can’t see it anywhere else other than the night club. [Couple of days back, I gave away five blingy dresses from when I was a size smaller. Remember it was a big deal in 2013? The dresses had just been languishing in my wardrobe these years. Hence, proved]

I see metal as minimal. There’s none of the screaming-out-loud here, but a silent command. Metal right now is what a wand is in the wizarding world of Harry Potter- a stick in fact, but so magical and powerful!

FYI, the metallic sheen on a fabric is from a material known as lamé which is knit with thin ribbons of metallic fibre. However, while lamé is typically gold, silver and copper, version 2K16 is also about them bottle greens, fiery reds, midnight blues, pale pinks… an endless spectrum. However, lamé aside, do the dope with materials like faux leather, velvet, satin, lurex and even the very desi silk and Benarasi fabrics.

Doing metallic to parties, however, is as easy as going shopping. The challenge I gave myself was doing the muted shine trend for a wedding, hatke of course!

So I paired a totes on-trend bomber jacket, unzipped just the right length to be a tease ;), with a hot pink Benarasi skirt. A chunky neckpiece is adjusted on my nape to sit like a choker. My shoes are grey velvet boots- season centric and so comfortable!

Some pictures to give you an idea…

There, my first shoot for the blog. BTS would show you the initial jitters and the awkward posing that came along with it! But I hope you like what you see!

Now be a darling and leave me feedback!

Till then, WERK IT GIRL!

Love, Ridzeepop x

Psst: While I’ve kept it minimal, so as not to take away from the clothes, throw in a maang tikaa, a kaala chashma or even big chandelier earrings into the mix!

{Deets- Brown satin bomber:, pink Benarasi skirt: Vishwa by Pinki Sinha, boots: Public Desire, rings and necklace: ping me for deets!}
